Part Two of our Maker Series of Exhibitions

Theme: Jewellery.
See this years stunning artworks, crafted from a single piece of kauri timber and nuggets of kauri gum. Each exhibitor is give a piece to create their interpretation of the theme. There is something on display to suit everyone’s taste.

Matariki - Schools Exhibition

EXHIBITION CANCELLED
This year's exhibition has sadly been cancelled due to changing school workloads, with kids on catchup after Covid-19 isolation.

We encourage you to celebrate in your own way, Māori New Year, as the Matariki star cluster rises over the Kaipara.

A themed photographic competition and exhibition showcasing the creativity of the Kaipara. Entries Open: 13 July.

The theme for 2020 is, ‘Inside Northland Homes’– a celebration of the spaces we live in - in our beautiful region where kauri once covered the land.

Welcome friends to this year's annual exhibition from the Otamatea Quilter's group.

Showcasing a range of techniques in the craft of patchwork and quilting, the quilters themselves will be at the museum on the Friday 23, Saturday 24, Sunday 25, Monday 26 October.

Heritage Christmas Decorations

Heritage Christmas Decorations

1 December 2020 - 5 January 2021
Heritage decorations will be on show throughout the rooms in the Sterling wing. These wonderful decorations are a combination of museum artifacts and hand crafted replicas.

The Sterling Wing features a fascinating recreation of a quality 1880 – 1920 six room home.This is a magical exhibition for kids and an exciting peep into what life was like not so long ago.
