National Poetry Day Entry Form

The Kauri Museum is celebrating Phantom National Poetry Day with a Poetry Competition for residents of the Kaipara and Northland Districts.
 

This is the third year we have run this competition – this year the theme for your work should be On the Shores of the Kaipara.


The competition runs 24th July to 14th August. Finalists will be announced on 20 August, then the Winner announced on Phantom National Poetry Day 27 August at a live performance event at the Museum.


Send up to four poems on any topic. Up to two poems per entrant may be published on the Kauri Museum facebook page.

Free to enter.

Open to all Kaipara and Northland Districts residents aged 18 and over.
Submit your poems and contact details by email to events@kaurimuseum.com.

Limit of four poems per entrant.

Terms & Conditions

The Kauri Museum Poetry and Song Lyric Competition for will open for entries on 24 July 2021.   Entrants must reside in the Kaipara, Whangarei or Far North District Council areas.

The Competition is for the best poem or song lyric. Finalists will be selected at the judges’ discretion. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third. This is an adults only competition.  Entrants must be 18 years and over.   

Entries close on Saturday 14 August 2021.  All entries will be judged by our panel of judges who will then select a number of finalists to go forward to the next step. 

Finalists will be announced on 20 August.  Finalists must be prepared, as one of the conditions of entry, to read or perform their entry at the Awards/Open Mic night to be held at The Kauri Museum, 5 Church Road, Matakohe on National Poetry Day, Friday 27 August 2020, from 6.30 – 8.00pm. 

Entries in te reo Māori are welcome.

The Kauri Museum will NOT share your details with third parties.
